The 7th Samothraki Summer School took place from July 16 to July 24 2022 as an ERASMUS Blended Intensive Programme „Island Sustainability“

The 6th Samothraki Summer School took place from 21. June to 1. July 2019.

The famous quote “Think like a mountain”, by Leopold Aldo, American ecologist who had greatly influenced the contemporary ecocentric approach and the discourse around environmental ethics, strongly resonates with the imposing mountain of the island.

The film "WINGS OF SAMOTHRAKI – follows and documents an ambitious research project that aims at assisting island's inhabitants in establishing a vision of a sustainable future for Samothrace. The film had it's premiere at 18. October 2018 in Filmcasino in Vienna, Austria.

An event of the Institute of Social Ecology of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna, as part of the “Be Open – Science and Society Festival” organized by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF).

The forum aims to be “the leading forum for the sustainable development of the island of Samothraki and the region of Northern Greece”.

The 5th Samothraki Summer School took place from 3. to 13. June 2018

The fourth Summer School on Samothraki will take place between the 5-15 July 2017

This meeting was held at the institute of Social Ecology in Vienna. It brought together researchers, students writing their theses about Samothraki, and some of the key local partners from the island, to discuss future strategic priorities.
